CARE works with local and international partners under the Protection and SRH program in Northwest Syria since the beginning of the Syria crisis and started its direct implementation in 2021.

The guard will be responsible for the safety and security of the CARE protection center, S/he is supposed to have previous work experience in the field of safety and security.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Protecting the property and maintaining a safe environment against fire, theft, prevent any unauthorized access into the property by controlling the entry points.
  • Monitoring all center exits, doors and windows to ensure they are secured upon completion of the shift, patrol the fence line or boundary of the property to ensure that it is intact and that there has been no cutting or entry into the building.
  • Make frequent visits outside the compound to check the perimeter especially when staff are arriving and departing.
  • Check the identity of all persons wishing to enter, checking and report unusual daily activities and violations, such as damage to equipment or property, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual incidents to the line manager.
  • Maintain a log of all visitors and vehicles entering the compound and granting permission to enter.
  • Checking equipment and machinery.
  • Monitor and report risks and violations, such as fire hazards, leakage of water pipes, and security doors that are left unlocked.
  • Ensuring the security and safety of the building, responding to emergencies, and following up on any defects thereof, check the security of the doors, locks, windows and security lights to ensure they are fully functional and report any defects to the Line manager.
  • Maintain vigilance in and around the premises and report anything suspicious or any suspicious person loitering within or around the premises to the Line manager.
  • Ensure the efficiency of the fire extinguishers and ensure the early warning alarms are in place and functional.
  • Keep the building clean and tidy.
  • Keep a check on the outdoor furniture and equipment. and ensure that generator checks are carried out regularly for both fuel and oil.
  • Adhere to all procedures applied by Care
  • Willing to work in daytime or night shifts.
  • The hours of duty will revolve in 3 x Daily 8 Hrs Shifts for 7 Days a Week
  • The oncoming guard is to report for duty no later than 15 minutes before their designated duty period start time.
  • The off-going guard is to provide a formal security handover to the oncoming guard before they proceed off duty.
  • Any guard who is more than 15 minutes late for their duty period will be reported to their supervisor.
  • At all times the guard is to remain smartly turned out and should be clean and smartly dressed, polite, disciplined, and alert
  • The guard is to politely refer all other requests from other CARE staff to do tasks such as unloading vehicles.
    Qualifications

Education and Training

Required

  • Holds a high school diploma as a minimum or Certificate of experience in Guard works or related field.
  • Good-mannered, respectful, and reliable character, and good reputation.
  • Live in Jarablus area.**Experience**

Required

  • At least one year of experience in the field of guard and security.
  • Experience working with NGOs.**Technical Skills**

Required

  • Ability to work effectively, either independently or as teamwork, and Work under pressure.
  • Honesty and clarity and willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
  • Ability to work on shifts.
  • Ability to attention all the time.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to deal with multitasking.
  • Ability to work well in unstable and changing security environments.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work effectively across a wide variety of cultural contexts.
