Norwegian Church Aid is one of the largest aid organizations in the Nordic region. We are there in disasters and emergencies to provide water and critical assistance to those affected. Introduction to the country office:

NCA has had a presence in Iraq intermittently since 2003.  Most recently, NCA re-opened its country office in northern Iraq in 2014 in response to the crisis resulting from the invasion by the IS.

NCA Iraq is implementing a Peacebuilding and gender-based violence (GBV) program designed to facilitate the recovery and reintegration of survivors into their communities and challenge the cultural norms that perpetuate GBV. NCA also works in peacebuilding.

NCA implements its GBV programs in (Alqoush, Bashiqa, Sinjar Town, Sinjar Mountain, Sinuni, Tel Kaif/Musol, Baaj, and Al-Hatra)

 

Information about the position: NCA is seeking to hire Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant-Based in Duhok with frequent travels to Sinjar, Baaj, Mosul, and Al-Hatra

Information about the contract: This is a full-time 9-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Work closely with the consortium members (NCA and its partner’s field teams to assist with collecting, collating, presenting, and otherwise managing information for M&E related reports
  • Conduct and support regular surveys for monitoring and evaluation activities
  • Assist in the preparation of project evaluation and/or review reports and draft the regular projects’ M&E report
  • Assist in the establishment and day to day management of a database and monitoring system
  • Assist with documentation of the projects, including project inputs and outputs (e.g. assessments, compiling beneficiary lists, implementation of GBV activity progress, etc.)
  • Assist in data analysis for compilation of quarterly, annual, and ad hoc program data and reports
  • Support collection and maintenance of geographic baseline and thematic data
  • Research and retrieve data from internal and external sources; and prepare the required statistical charts, tables, and reports
  • Act as Complaints Response and Feedback Mechanism focal points in NCA’s areas of operation.
  • community feedback about NCA’s interventions and ensuring community feedback is fed back into the project cycle management.
  • Providing useful and constructive information to target communities about NCA’s programs.
  • Responsible for improving the Community Feedback and Response
  • The person to be employed must be loyal to Norwegian Church Aid’s Christian values and accept the Code of Conduct of ACT Alliance.

 

Qualifications

  • University degree, preferably in social sciences, international relations and/or development, or another relevant discipline.
  • At least 2 years’ relevant working experience in the field of humanitarian /development M&E implementation
  • Exposure to a wide range of information management systems related to humanitarian/development and/or operational (eg GBV services and activities) activities.
  • Experience with participatory fieldwork, reporting, and monitoring of results.
  • Speaks English and Arabic fluently, Kurdish is an added advantage

 

Personal qualities

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analysis skills (qualitative and qualitative)
  • Excellent one to one and group communication /information presentation skills
  • Experience in training and capacity building in M&E mechanisms at various project levels
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Experience working with statistical computer software packages
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to work under pressure, independently, and with limited supervision.
