at University Neighborhood Partners, specifically connecting community to emergency housing resources and other
social service resources. Focuses on increasing west side resident’s connections to culturally responsive resources
regarding social connection, mental health referrals, and health access support. Works in collaboration with overall
UNP efforts in creating pathways for west side residents to achieve individual, family, and community goals regarding
health and wellness.
This is a temporary, non-benefited, 8-month position.
This position is Category IIA: Not required on campus and able to telework
Responsibilities
1. Oversees daily program operations and coordinates team of community based resource navigators.
2. Develops and implements program goals and objectives, specifically focused on emergency housing resources.
3. Monitors program quality and effectiveness and researches improvement methods.
4. Advises UNP staff, students and others regarding community identified goals related to existing resources and
existing barriers.
5. Prepares reports and records on program status and progress for management and outside agencies.
6. Writes and edits program related publications and promotional or educational materials.
7. May assign, direct and review work of support staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency required (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

Preferences
In addition to required English language skills, fluency in Spanish, Somali, Swahili, Tongan, Samoan, and/or Arabic are
highly desired. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide culturally
responsive support to historically marginalized community members in the west side of Salt Lake City. The individual
must demonstrate knowledge of social service resource navigation focused on local communities of immigrant and
refugee background.
