Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct door-to-door and/or mailing surveying in Havenscourt with identified and assigned addresses, encouraging residents to complete the community survey
Participate in community-wide events in the neighborhood to encourage residents to complete the community survey
Attend a paid training in June and other check-in meetings to ensure successful data collection
Work with EBALDC’s Community Organizer team to establish a door-knocking schedule
Commit to work during assigned hours (up to 8 hours per week) over 8 weeks, for up to a total of 64 hours of work. Data collection period is June 21st through August 13th
Follow Community Surveyor guidelines, expectations, and policies
Communicate regularly with EBALDC’s Community Organizer, including checking-in and out and returning all materials to EBALDC’s Community Organizer at the end of each shift
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to speak Spanish and/or Arabic preferred, but not required
Must have reliable personal transportation or reside within walking distance
Flexibility in work schedule, including morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, and weekend work, for up to 8-10 hours per week
Excellent communication skills, reading skills, and a clear speaking voice
Ability to keep accurate records and neat, legible handwriting
Comfortable working and engaging in a diverse community and neighborhood
Comfortable speaking to people about sensitive, private issues
Comfortable walking for extended periods of time, including up and down stairs
Must maintain a neat and professional appearance; Healthy Havenscourt t-shirts and name tags will be provided
