About the Position:
Depending on assignment, employee is responsible for all aspects of administering the World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) Screener exam to incoming potential English Learner (EL) students; maintaining and creating EL cumulative folders; registering students; translation, language testing and translation, lunch applications, general office work; and all other related duties as required.
Job Responsibilities:

Student registration including review and verification of required registration documents
Enforce registration policies and procedures
Translation of documents, including IEP’s, evaluations, EL documents, reports and other documents
Perform language testing
Coordinate restraining order information, keeping all appropriate parties involved
Process lunch applications
Record address and phone changes for students
Perform general office work including phone coverage, copying, filing and mailing
Maintain homeless information
Process student transfers
Coordinate residency issues, such as return mail, letters
Process invoices
Provide assistance to parents in person and on the phone
Respond to and fulfill requests for records
Process and print identification cards
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent and one – three years of related experience is required.
Knowledge of data base applications, office procedures.
Ability to interact with students and families in a welcoming way; ability to handle information in a sensitive, confidential and professional manner is essential; ability to understand and apply procedures, regulations and policies; ability to work independently, meet deadlines and be able to prepare reports.
Intermediate or above Spanish Language skills necessary.
ESL Teacher experience or license greatly preferred.
ESL Paraprofessional experience and license or ESL is preferred.
Knowledge of language acquisition and WIDA Consortium research and design preferred.
Additional languages such as Portuguese, French, or Arabic are preferred.
Terms:
This is a non-union position and is year-round. The work day is 19 hours of a regular school hours based on student registration needs, schedule to be determined with Supervisor. Peak times are in the summer from June – August. Non-licensed teacher $30.00/hr.; Licensed teachers $35/hr. This position is contingent on funding approval.
