The Instructor in a Concordia Language Villages Language Training Center (LTC) program is responsible for instruction and overall implementation of a language-specific iso-immersion program as guided by the Lead Instructor/Program Coordinator. This includes planning and implementation of a variety of program elements, and may also include public relations, and interaction with the support staff from the operations areas at the Language Villages. The Instructor is responsible for implementing program elements that reflect the mission and immersion principles/methodology of Concordia Language Villages, that align with the parameters of the Concordia LTC model, and that are in accordance with the expressed needs of the LTC client. The Instructor reports to the respective LTC Lead Instructor and to the administrative team of Concordia Language Villages as a whole.

Minimum Qualifications
- Superior (at minimum) proficiency in the target language/dialects and Advanced (minimum) proficiency English
- Commitment to the importance of immersion language and culture education
- Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and methodologies for second language learning
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- B.A. degree in related field required, with advanced degree preferred
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the instructor position (see job description)
- Eligibility to be employed legally in the USA; assume responsibility and costs for any visa requirements
- Sympathy with the mission of a liberal arts college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree
- Understanding of and experience with language proficiency rating scales like the ILR and the OPI
- Experience with content-based language instruction for adults
- Experience teaching in a Concordia Language Villages program or in a comparable language immersion environment
- For virtual immersion programs, experience with virtual teaching and Learning Management Systems such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard and Google Classroom
