Qualifications
Generic professional competencies:
1. Experience of working as a Finance Officer / Finance Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context.
Bachelor/Institute Degree in Accounting, Business, and Administration or finance-related fields.
2. Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
3. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
Strong Excel skills and any accounting software.
4. Proficient in Arabic and a good level of English written and spoken. Context/ Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:

Duties and responsibilities
Generic responsibilities
1. Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines
2. Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to the plan of action
3. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
4. Ensure proper filing of documents
5. Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
6. Ensure adherence with NRC Financial Handbook, SOPs, and other financial specific procedures.
7. Actively promote PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC.
Specific responsibilities
1. Implement financial systems and procedures according to the NRC Financial Handbook and other NRC policies.
2. Review and post accounting entries into accounting software (Agresso).  Ensure there is proper supporting documentation for all payments and accounting entries.
3. Process incoming invoices and vouchers; ensure they are accurate and fully approved; code on all vouchers for valid account/Project Code/Donor Code. Ensure that vouchers are entered into cash books and keep them updated on a daily basis.
4. Ensure timely payment of contractors, suppliers, and other expenditures.
5. Ensure sufficient cash in the cash box; prepare cashbox reconciliations. Ensure a regular cash count.
6. Make sure that cash is received by the Area Office and that needed authorizations are obtained in a timely manner and ahead of planned expenditures.
7. In the case of an audit, make sure that the needed documentation is prepared and according to NRC standards. Assist the auditors during their stay in NRC premises.
8. Assist in the month-end accounting closing process, ensuring the accuracy of the ledger and all supporting documentation.
9. Scanning and filing all transactions related to Erbil Area Office
10. Any other duties as assigned by the line manager
