QC Engineer – Supply Chain

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a QC Engineer – Supply Chain on a 4/4 rotation in Basra, Iraq.

Accountabilities:

  • Responsible to their line manager and their functional head for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to quality management with respect to ISO 9001 requirements, company policy, management system and client requirements
  • Promote the awareness of quality principles and concepts, promoting the review and challenge of working practices and methods to enhance performance
  • Coach colleagues across the organisation in quality principles
  • Assist in the development and execution of contract quality programmes in accordance with Contract and/or Projects Execution Plan arrangements
  • Assist in the maintenance, documentation and deployment of the Wood quality management system
  • Assist in preparation of local management review data
  • Ensure compliance of the Wood management system with current and new legislation
  • Evaluate potential vendor’s quality capabilities prior to contract award
  • Assist with the execution of planned project, vendor and subcontractor and internal quality audits in accordance with the audit and review programme
  • Effectively use and maintain the Wood IMPact database
  • Support incident investigations
  • Support continuous improvement projects across relevant area of business
  • Support the development and communication of lessons learned and success stories
  • Attend project kick off meetings as required to provide quality support and advice according to QA/QC deliverables
  • Review and approve product/material requisitions and validate quality control and certification requirements
  • Assign and coordinate product/material inspection activities in accordance to the specifications set out in purchase orders, datasheets, drawings and client specifications/ requirements, Inspection and Test Plans etc
  • Coordinate third party vendor inspection visits, review and distribution of inspection reports
  • Interface with appointed independent verification authority as required
  • Participate in the recall of defective materials/product to ensure quarantine and replacement as required

Skills / Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Quality or relevant disciplines
  • Membership of CQI or country specific industry body
  • Quality Auditor Qualification by recognised industry body
  • 5 + years relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industries
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
  • Analytical, Problems Solving skills and Systematic thinking
