Organizational context

Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) is a non-profit organization that operates abroad, in the context of humanitarian aid and development cooperation. It is a respected member of the international network Caritas Internationalis. Its foreign activities focus on the health and social sectors and on developing livelihood for the local population and education of children and adults.

The Field monitor will be based in CCR’s office in Telafar/Ninewa frequent travels to the project intervention areas around Ninewa governorate and under supervision of M&E Specialist.in CCR and the M&E Coordinator for technical guidance.

I.        Job Description

The Monitor is responsible for assisting the M&E Specialist and M&E Coordinator to implement all M&E field activities and tasks including assessments, beneficiary verification, data entry, reporting, collection of and ensuring adherence to lessons learned and best practices, and any other tasks as required.

II.      Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate with the M&E Specialist and M&E Coordinator on how to carry out the assessments (including, but not limited to: Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices (KAP) surveys, focus group discussions, key informant interviews, baseline and end-line surveys, as well as other types of assessments and data collection that is required);
  2. Check that material necessary to carry out the assessment is sufficient and appropriate;
  3. Ask questions in a clear and kind manner, and ask all the questions exactly as worded:
  4. Probe to clarify unclear answers;
  5. Write down the observations and answers in an ordinate and clear way, recording responses accurately;
  6. Record and forward all complaints and suggestions received while in the field to the appropriate call center assistant or M&E Coordinator.
  7. Supervise and assist with data collection activities and ensure that data collection teams are organized and resourced as needed, and that they deliver as per field mission plans and according to data quality standards;
  8. Document and share the lessons learnt and best practices on time and ensure that the knowledge gained contributes to the improvement of projects and influence the strategic development of future projects and activities;
  9. Support project implementation and improvement by providing timely information around project successes to be scaled up as well as challenges to allow ‘course correction’ throughout life of the program.
  10. Contribute to the proper management of the project CRM central database.
  11. Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to supervisors and other team members;
  12. Perform any other related activities as assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Bachelor degree in management, IT or related filed is a must.
  • At least 1 years’ experience in a similar role with an INGOs.
  • Respect and non-discriminatory attitude.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Adhering to CCR and the donor’s system and policy.
  • Work in close coordination with CCR’s M&E Specialist.
  • Ensure implementation of work plans in accordance to the M&E work plan.
  • Monitor and report on various activities.
  • Excellent skill in KOBO, Survey monkey, any other data collection platforms MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency Arabic proficiency. English is an asset.
