Finance Controller



Job Purpose
Support the Chief Finance Officer in all financial matters including but not limited to annual budgets, management accounts, management reporting, accounting standards and treasury.

Accountabilities
Plan
– Supports the development of a long term financial plan and annual budget based on key drivers of the line department and their respective business plans
– Health and safety responsibilities
Lead
– Lead the coordination with Internal and External Auditors, developing action plans based on audit observations and lead the closing of all observations.
Execute
– Implements departmental policies, processes, procedures and provides guidance and instructions to employees with regards to safety
– Implements day-to-day operations assigned and ensures compliance with the established standards and procedures
– Reviews and ensures sales records reflect the correct outstanding positions at all times by receipting and allocating amounts recovered from customers correctly and on time
– Ensures that sales and refunds are accurately recorded to ensure up to date information
– Coordinates with stakeholders to ensure that all payments are settled in a timely manner
– Completes bank reconciliations by comparing bank statements to payments/ deposits made on a weekly basis clearing any outstanding items
– Generates and provides the weekly cash flow statement to ensure proper tracking
– Validates and checks payments to maintain creditors profile to enable the party to be dealt with professionally
– Compiles and prepares the required reports/statements such as tax collected for local Government/statutory requirements and arrange for the submission of the report/ statement in line with the required schedule.
– Responsible for the health and safety duty of care at the workplace.
– Ensure to report any hazards, injuries, ill-health or near miss to your supervisor or employer. Cooperate with your employer when they require something to be done for health and safety at the workplace

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum qualifications/ skills/ experience / knowledge
– Bachelor degree in a Finance or Accounting discipline
– 6-8 years of experience in a finance role with a minimum of 5 years in supervision/management position
– Proficient knowledge in Airport Operations or related aviation industry
