Title : Orthopedic Surgeon
Reports to: Medical Activity Manager Location : Mosul Project
Main Purpose:
Organize and carry out surgery activities, ensure pre and post-operative surgical care, in accordance with MSF policies, protocols and universal hygiene standards and in close collaboration with medical staff in the emergency, intensive wards and operation theatre in order to improve patients’ health conditions. |
Accountabilities
- Examine and assess patients’ physical condition and problems.
- Examines, diagnoses, and treats diseases and injuries due to trauma, chronic and acute infection.
- Perform appropriate surgical treatments and procedures.
- Keep and update and follow up patients’ medical records.
- Collaborate with medical and paramedical team.
- Adhere to MSF orthopaedic protocols, procedures and guidelines.
- Carry out required surgical procedures to re-fix broken/fractured bones
- Participate in the collection of patients’ medical data according to MSF standard.
- Participation in morbidity and mortality patient review program.
- Participation in training of the medical staff and activities.
- Participation in the medical meeting and cases review.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Requirements

Education: – A Medical Degree with and residency specialization in trauma and orthopaedic surgery is essential – Certification with the Arab Board of Orthopedic Surgery is essential Experience: – Knowledge of management of bone infections and osteomyelitis treatment and basics principles in internal fixation is desirable – Outstanding patient management skills is desirable Languages: – Arabic and English
Knowledge:
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and teamwork – Ability to work under pressure, with flexibility.
