Duties

Basic Function of Position: Incumbent is responsible for the mission-wide Furniture and Appliance Pool. Mission Turkey consists of over 301 residents that must be furnished. He/she is responsible for ordering new and replacement furniture and appliances, analyzing warehouse stock, and coordinating with consulates in Istanbul and Adana. Incumber must ensure the accuracy of all FAP data.

Incumbent also performs Embassy Ankara property clerk functions. Prepare, updates and file all property records for household and office furniture, appliances and equipment. The incumbent is responsible for the data entry of office and household inventories, processing non-expendable property transactions in ILMS, maintenance of all office fax and copy machines, ordering of expandable supplies. Assists in conducting check-in/check-out of household inventories for arriving and departing personnel for all agencies in the furniture pool.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:  Minimum two (2) years of general office experience.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  General working knowledge of Property Management regulations in the FAM, Embassy policies and standards and GSO operations. Must have filing, clerical, typing, and computer skills.

Education Requirements:
    • Minimum two (2) years of university or college studies.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:  English level III (Good Working Knowledge) required in both Writing and Speaking. Turkish level III (Good Working Knowledge) required in both Writing and Speaking.

This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to deal with customers in a tactful and diplomatic manner. Must have typing skills for computer use, data analysis knowledge and knowledge of Microsoft office applications. Must have a valid driver’s license and must be available to work on evenings, weekends, early mornings, U.S. and Turkish holidays, as needed.
