The Project Assistant is responsible for supporting projects of quick impact on the field according to the methodologies and guidelines provided by ACTED, committed to community engagement and project implementation and monitoring. The quick impact project intends to cover basic and emergency needs in the neighbourhoods of All Mosul, based on the needs of the neighbourhood. Technical experience with projects developed in Mosul city are desirable.

    • Country Programmes Coordinator
    • Area Coordinator
    • Community Mobilizer and Mass Info Programme Officer
    • Community Mobilizers
    • Data Entry Staff
    • All departments

    Functions

    1. Technical Leadership and Mentoring

     

    • Assist in reporting information, data collection, surveys and assessments such as vulnerability assessments and others as needed.
    • Assist in planning, suggestion and implementing program activities.
    • Submit reports on activities result, challenges faced and lessons learned
    • Ensure proper handling and movement of any project files
    • Ensure all activities are conducted in full respect to the humanitarian principles and in organized and dignified way
    • Provide interpretation and translation from/into English/ Arabic when necessary. (Turkmen language will be useful)
    • To prepare all other report upon request by the Program Managers;

    2.     Influence & Representation

    • Identify, build and manage collaborative partnerships with consortium partners, sub-grantees, donors, local governments and other stakeholders.
    • Communicate effectively to ensure overall project targets and donor obligations are met.

     

    3.     Security

    • Ensure supervisees’ compliance with security procedures and policies, as determined by country leadership.
    • Proactively ensure that team members operate in a secure environment and are aware of policies.

     

    Base of operation: Mosul

    The project is to be implemented across Ninewa. the position will require to work under Mosul base with regular field visits around Mosul district, according to the needs and area of intervention.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  1. Required qualifications and technical competencies
    • Degree in civil engineering, or related courses.
    • At least 1 years of experience in project implementation and construction, preferably in a humanitarian context
    • Strong experience in rehabilitation, construction supervision and contractors’ management
    • Experience in capacity building and training with local and regional authorities
    • Experience in QIPs baseline/endline assessment and quick technical assessment
    • Auto CAD skills is an asset,
    • Willingness to travel to different districts and governorates within IRAQ, an asset

 

  1. Professionalism and Personal Qualities
    • A willingness to learn quickly, ask questions, and improve on his/her skills
    • Excellent communication, diplomatic and motivational skills with program staff, beneficiaries and other stakeholders in the area
    • S/he is committed to honesty and clarity in all data collection, and expects the same from cash for work staff
    • Strong attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and problem solve in a fast moving, multi-site environment
    • Demonstrate flexibility to work on unusual hours and cope with the pressure from emergency activities
    • Good English language skills is an asset,
    • Turkmen and Kurdish languages skills is an asset
