Database (Sr.) Administrator

Summary

• Administer, patch and maintain Exadata Systems.
• Install, patch and maintain Cloud Control 13c.
• Install, patch and maintain Oracle 11g, 12c and 19c.
• Install, patch and maintain Oracle Audit Vault and Database firewall.
• Configure and maintain Oracle database vault and database security.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs the capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases.
• Plans and implements backup and recovery of the Oracle database.
• Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
• Provides technical support to application teams.
• Implement Oracle high availability technologies including RAC and Data Guard.
• Work as part of a team and provide 24×7 support when required.
• Work with Oracle Corporation for technical support.

Competencies

• Good understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools.
• Oracle DBA 12c or 19c Certification is required.
• A good understanding of Linux operating system.
• A good knowledge of the physical database design.
• Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring.
• Knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery scenarios.
• A good knowledge of Oracle security management.
• A good knowledge Oracle data integrity.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions based on quantitative and qualitative judgment.
• Must be proactive and creative in finding solutions to issues that must be resolved.
• Quickly adapt as requirements/tasks change.
• Able to work under critical time deadlines and pressures.
