Job Purpose
To be the focal point of contact with donors. The responsibility for the financial and compliance side of the programs from the budgeting phase, track & monitor the project implementation (payments and documentation), till reporting and close the program financially.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the preparation of the grant budget / spending & procurement plans.
- To be the budget holder of the grant; ensuring the procurement and recruitments are in line with the budget and in accordance with donor regulations.
- Oversee and monitor the transactions and the expenditures related to the program / grant. And,
- Ensure all transactions are in compliance with ACU policies and donor regulations and in line with grant budget.
- Lead the preparation of the grant financial reports (TJ, Ledgers, BvA, … Etc.) as required by the grant agreement and by Finance Manager.
- Conduct regular meetings with donor; discuss any over / under budget lines, over / under spend lines, and suggest any needed modifications or reallocation between the budgets lines.
- Ensure the availability and accessibility of the back-up documentations in both hard & soft copies.
- Keep the relevant staff informed about upcoming deadlines and deliverables, thereby ensuring smooth completion of work responsibilities
- Work with finance team in reconciliation of grants payments, records, and grant bank / cash balance.
- Work closely with the auditors to ensure the smooth of audit process by providing any required documentations, justifications, and information and to clear any comments.
- Work with programs team, finance team, and grants team to develop, write, and submit proposals and budgets.
- Work closely with Turkish Legal Accountant for all work related to the ACU’ legal documentation and accounts.
Note: the above mentioned key responsibilities/accountabilities are illustrative ones. Another future responsibilities/accountability may be assigned to the job depending on the department organizational chart.
Qualification (Education/Work Experience/Languages)
A. Essential:
- Bachelor degree in Economics (Finance, Accounting, Business Administration) or any related field.
- A minimum of 3 years work experience, 1 year at least of professional experience in grants / programs management (Assistant / Officer).
- English Language intermediate Level.
- Turkish Language Advance Level.
- Arabic Language Native.
B. Desirable:
- Master degree in Economics(Finance, Accounting, Business Administration) or any related field.
- A minimum of 5 years work experience, 2 year at least of professional experience in grants / programs management (Assistant / Officer).
