Background

Mission East worked in Dohuk from 2003-2005. In response to the recent IDP crisis Mission East has re-established a presence in Iraq in September 2014 in order to provide emergency assistance for displaced people. Our current programme in Iraq focuses on psychosocial support, shelter, distribution of non-food items, WASH, and cash assistance in Nineveh and Kirkuk Governorates.

Mission East condemns all forms of child abuse and child exploitation, takes a zero-tolerance approach to all abuse and exploitation against children and seeks to ensure children are not exposed to the risk of maltreatment by its representatives.

 

Key Tasks and Objectives

  • The Trainer will be providing digital marketing training and assist Mission East beneficiaries in digitization of their businesses.
  • Train beneficiaries on how to establish and manage business social media pages.
  • Assist beneficiaries in establishing their social media business pages.
  • Support beneficiaries to run the pages after the establishment of the pages.
  • Assist in coaching and mentoring the beneficiaries.
  • Prepare a detailed training program, including a clear methodology and proposed tools. The training must adopt a participatory and interactive approach which should include educational games for practicing the skills learned.
  • Prepare a list of requirements for venues and any major equipment needed to conduct the training.
  • Record trainees’ participation and attention during the training and report to livelihood officers.
  • Assess at the end of each class trainees’ comprehension of the subjects discussed
  • The trainer will train participants in two to three groups a day, each training will be at least 2 hours/day.
  • The trainer must ensure clear communication has taken place throughout the training.
  • The trainer must ensure that the participants understand the concepts and are able to apply what they are learning through simulation role plays, group work, discussions, and feedback sessions.
  • The training has various learning varication tools, videos and feedback forms that will assist the trainer in assessing whether effective communication has taken place.

 

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Degree or professional certification in the relevant skill(s), preferably business management, marketing / or IT.

·         At least 2 years training experience.

·         Previous experience providing similar services for an NGO is preferred

·         Trainers must possess a certain range of skill vocational and marketing skills

·         Trainer must be willing to work Mosul,Telkif and Hamdaniya.

·         Trainer must be able to structure and communicate ideas, using
visual aids. This manual comes with a set of PowerPoint presentations for each topic.

·         The Trainer must be able to adapt these to suit their context and participants.

·         The trainer can also develop his/her own presentations based on the content of the program.

·         Trainer should be able to manage activities, elicit contributions from participants through various means as well as learn while they train.

·         The trainer must prepare group work activities and have all the required equipment before the training commences.

·         A trainer should be a good listener, have the ability to question, clearly explain concepts and give feedback.
