Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the Immigration Program Manager or an Officer, the Immigration Case Analyst analyzes, evaluates and makes recommendations on temporary and permanent resident applications. Makes well-founded and supported recommendations based on sound knowledge of immigration related legislation, regulations, guidelines and procedures as well as sound judgment. Responds to clients’/partners’/stakeholders’ requests for advice and guidance on a variety of routine and/or urgent issues. Participates on projects and conducts intelligence gathering and dissemination, promotional and related activities. All of these duties are to be conducted in a manner that supports program integrity.

 

Essential qualifications:
Candidates will initially be screened on the essential qualifications below and must demonstrate in their cover letter and resume how they meet these criteria. Only those candidates who meet all the Essential qualifications will proceed to the next stage of the process.

Education:
• Technical Diploma or university degree from a recognized institution

Language:
• Fluency in English (written, reading and oral)
• Fluency in Turkish (written and oral)
You must provide evidence of your English language ability as follows:
• A recent language test score from IELTS showing each score at 7 or above*, or
• Proof of graduation from an English language medium university

*IELTS TRF examination date must be within the past three years.

Experience:
• A minimum of 2* years of demonstrated recent experience working in an office environment, with a high degree of comfort and familiarity using work processing software (MS Word, Excel, etc).
* 2 years of demonstrated recent experience is defined as a period of at least two consecutive years within the last seven years.

OR

• A minimum of 1** year of demonstrated recent experience working in the immigration or consular section of a Canadian Embassy or consulate, a foreign embassy or consulate, a Visa Application Centre, or working in case management in an International Organization.
**1 year of demonstrated recent experience is defined as a period of at least one continuous year within the last seven years.

Rated Requirements
Candidates must also meet the rated requirements shown below, which will be assessed through any of the following: written test, oral communication, interview and reference checks.

Asset Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who have the following asset qualifications. Candidates must also clearly demonstrate how they meet these factors in their cover letter:
Language:
• Knowledge of French (both written and oral)
• Knowledge of Arabic (both written and oral)
• Knowledge of Persian (both written and oral)
Experience:
• Experience in supervising staff, including allocation of work, training and performance management;
• Experience working in the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) office at the Embassy of Canada, Ankara, Turkey
• Experience using Global Case Management System (GCMS)

Operational Requirements:
• Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days a week
• Ability and willingness to work overtime (compensated)
• Annual leave dates may be restricted due to operational needs
• Ability and willingness to undergo training
• Adhere to Canada’s Code on Values & Ethics and IRCC’s code of conduct

 

Condition(s) of Employment:
• Candidates must have a valid work authorization covering the entire employment period. If the employment is indeterminate, the work authorization should be permanent or itself lead to a permanent work authorization.
