Facility Senior Engineer

Job Description

Zain Iraq is actively recruiting to hire a Facility Senior Engineer who is  responsible for utilizing advanced engineering techniques and expertise to design and develop successful and cost-effective operations, processes, and projects whilst ensuring excellence. Jobs in this family ensure proper implementation of codes and regulations to support unit objectives, provisioning of recommendations and guidance, and ensuring recommendations are efficiently implemented. The jobs also require the supervision of staff and other teams as well as collaboration with other internal Departments and external stakeholders.

• Contribute to the formulation of relevant engineering codes
• Support with technical input related to engineering codes, policies, and regulations within the area of expertise
• Contribute to the development of plans and associated studies in line with strategic objectives
• Facilitate coordination between the various parties to ensure on-time delivery of activities and projects
• Manage the generation of reports on performance and activities to ensure management is properly informed and action is taken in areas of concern
• Participate in the development of the Facilities Engineering budget, and monitors financial performance versus the budget to ensure alignment
• Supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and compliance with the set policies, processes, and procedures
• Provide reports to management on any construction and engineering projects
• Develop project work break down structure and determine project milestones and high-level schedule
• Develop in coordination with selected contractors new project detailed program of work
• Coordinate with regions to gather needed data and conduct analysis coming up with the most efficient and practical drawings and designs
• Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include preliminary design, calculation, life cycle cost, and equipment selection
• Develop detailed design, BOQs, and material specifications to estimate costs, schedules for material and project phase delivery
• Perform feasibility and technical studies and site investigations to ensure considering all elements in the design
• Coordinate building expansion plans with space planning and concerned departments to provide optimal space use and planning
• Receive planning and evaluation requests when space is not available to provide guidance and action plans
• Provide all planning and evaluation services to the Company for administration buildings
• Identify the best viable space provision options and alternatives and provide the customers with different options to choose from
• Evaluate building space demand alternatives to find out and adopt the best solutions
• Supervise all space planning and evaluation services related to administration buildings to render the ultimate solutions in this area
• Support procurement during the tendering while selecting external contractors for execution to select those who best meet the set engineering standards
• Track, monitor and analyze the progress of activities and ensure timely execution against the baseline schedule, prepare the monthly progress report and billing reports, and flag potential risks of delays
• Manage engineering operations by providing guidance, encouraging teamwork, and facilitating related professional work processes to achieve high-performance standards
• Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and complex coordination requirements
• Conduct periodical review, follow-up, and progress update to assess project status and solve any issues raised while implementation
• Monitor quality of work on-site against design drawings and material specifications and manage inspection efforts on site
• Collect complaints and issues from stakeholders and suggest appropriate penalization requirements
• Direct performance of all engineering maintenance activities to ensure provisioning of quality services
• Approve large scale projects’ maintenance works and review mega-projects maintenance requirements
• Health and Safety principles.
• Evaluating all issues related to the health and Safety Program.
• Conduct adequate Drills.

What Do You Need to Qualify

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture-related field, or equivalent

Experience

• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years in a similar role.
• MEP, Structural, Architect designs
