Two Program Managers for the Global Programs team
#1 – Permanent – Bilingual French/English Required (Global Health Team)
#2 – 2 year temporary contract – Bilingual French/English Required (Women’s Empowerment and Rights on Gender Food and Climate Justice Team)
ABOUT THE ROLES / WHAT THE ROLES OFFERS
#1 – The Global Health team at CARE Canada is looking for one Program Manager to support the implementation of a portfolio of projects. This is a permanent role and requires a fluently bilingual (French/English) candidate. The Program Manager is responsible for managing CARE Canada’s project-specific relationship with GAC and works closely with Country Office colleagues to ensure donor compliance and to share project learning.
#2 The Gender, Food and Climate Justice team at CARE Canada is looking for a fluently bilingual (French/English) Program Manager with experience in program management in complex environments with exceptional skills in gender equality programming, feminist coalition building, women’s rights and empowerment. Reporting to the Head of Gender, Food and Climate Justice Programs (GFCJ), the Program Manager is responsible for leading CARE Canada’s women’s empowerment and rights programing and, including the day-to-day project support, donor relations, compliance, sharing learning and engagement.
Both positions require candidates to have strong project management skills, experience managing donor-funded programming, and excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
WHAT YOU OFFER / ABOUT YOU
Fluency at a professional level (written and oral), in French and English are required for both roles.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing international development projects, with at least 1 year experience working overseas/in the global south in a similar role in a humanitarian or development context.
A minimum of 3 – 5 years managing for results using results-based management tools.
Experience with project financial management and expertise in developing and managing budgets.
Experience in applying rights and gender-based approaches to programming.
Minimum MA/MSC in relevant field or significant experience in managing international development portfolios of similar size and scope.
Commitment to feminist principles and approaches to program management.
Promote and maintain an organizational culture that advances gender equality, reduces power abuse and inequalities, is inclusive, and fosters trust and safety.
Create an environment within CARE’s workplaces, programming, and communities where CARE works that is free from sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation and child abuse (SHEA-CA).
Ensure high standards of prevention and response measures for SHEA-CA are in place consistent with the CARE International (CI) Safeguarding Policy and Safeguarding Code of Conduct.
