Project Assistant at ICMPD.


To support the implementation of the ICMPD projects in the field of Irregular Migration and Return in the Western Balkans and Turkey, the Project Assistant will work with the Directorate General for Migration Management (DGMM), within the Ministry of Interior of Turkey. S/he will work under the functional supervision of senior staff from the Department for Combatting Irregular Migration, while reporting to the ICMPD Project Manager (Irregular Migration and Return), Regional Office for the Western Balkans and Turkey in Ankara. S/he will maintain and ensure regular communication and flow of information between the DGMM and the Regional Office. She/he will located at the premises of the DGMM.

The Project Assistant provides administrative and logistical support for the implementation of project activities. S/he prepares administrative documents and correspondence. S/he maintains project´s filing system.


The Project Assistant helps organise project events and meetings, being responsible for the organization of participation from the DGMM and other relevant public institutions. S/he collects, compiles and organises inputs to meetings, project reports, presentations, communication materials and towards formulation of new projects. ​

INCUMBENT PROFILE:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in project administration and implementation of projects.
  • Prior experience with an international organisation is an asset.
  • Experience in a field related to migration, is an asset.
  • Understanding of migration issues and migration management in Turkey, including irregular migration and return, is an asset.
  • Experience in working with Turkish public institutions in a field related to migration, is an asset.
  • Experience in organisation of events and meetings.
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in managing conflict priorities and working with tight deadlines.
  • Strong team work and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility.
  • Excellent command of standard MS-office software.
