ROLE PURPOSE:
Livelihood Assistant is a primary level field based position under the direct supervision of Food Security and Livelihoods FSL Business Trainer . She will be responsible for day to day implementation, reporting and documentation of microenterprise development training activities along with national partner team and and with technical support from FSL Coordinator / FSL Business Trainer. The position holder will work closely with MEAL, WASH, Child Protection, Education, Finance and supply chain team in Sinjar.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
• Carries out the weekly planned activities for microenterprise development training, support the FSL Business Trainer in deliverying of business grants and mentorship services to potential micro enterprise development beneficiaries in Sinjar.
• Assist the FSL Business Trainer to facilitate microenterprise development training participants for preparation of business plan.
• Support in developing monthly visit plans on assessing and following up businesses development in coordination with FSL Business Trainer.
• Identify and assess the needs of various communities and suggest possible solutions in coordination with FSL Business Trainer.
• Support in carrying out of pre and post training assessment under supervison of the FSL Business Trainer.
• Communicate to community for oureach activities – act as focal point for livelihoods related activities inquiries.
• Call potential business candidates for attending respective trainings and inductions.
• Regular field visits following delivery of business start up grants to ensure grant is used for intended purposes.
• Identify vulnerable beneficiaries during the field work who might need other service assistances and refer them according to the referrals procedures to the respective service providers.
• Collect all required documents related to small business support program including beneficiary selection, microenterprise development training, business start up grants, coaching/ mentorship services and final evaluation.
• Support in preparation of a PR related to trainings preparation to be submitted to the finane and supply chain departments on time.
General:

• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
Essential
• At least one years proven experience of youth livelihoods program implementation and six months as livelihoods assistant.
• Strong understanding of preparing training sessions/agendas/ timelines and managing assessment.
• Fluency in Arabic, Kurdish and local languages; Written and Spoken Enghlish a plus.
• Experience and understanding of gender sensitive programing.
• Good understanding of community engagement and social cohesion.
• Good understanding of humanitarian principles and don no harm.
• Understanding and commitment to Save the Children aims, values, and principles
Desirable
• Bachelor degree in economics, management sciences or livelihoods related fields.
• Participated in ToT organized by ILO on SIYB curriculum.
• Local from Sinjar
• Works well in and promotes teamwork, strong community outreach skills, detail oriented, honest, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
• Strong sense of integrity
• Female candidate with required skills is highly preferred.
