Project Assistant


Duration: The project assistant will be employed in the context of GIZ CLIP-2 project for eleven months.

About the project: The project will be implemented in cooperation with ECHO, BMZ and GIZ aiming to provide thematic traininings, protection and social cohesion activities for refugee women.


Summary: Provides support to project coordinator and technical team to successfully implement the assigned project, reporting and translation between Turkish-English and English-Turkish and possibly Arabic.

Duties:

Roles and responsibilities

  • Support Project Coordinator in project management.
  • Management of daily communication between Project Coordinator and Technical Team.
  • Schedule, organize and attend meetings and prepare meeting records.
  • Provide general support to training programs, workshops and seminars etc.
  • Support to Project Coordinator in organising data and related reports.
  • Proper handling of project documents including filing and archiving.
  • Maintenance of filing systems and the exchange of information between project stakeholders.
  • Translation of documents, regulations, training, information and written materials from English into Turkish or English into English when needed.
  • Assisting the organization in preparing English and Turkish materials.
  • Reading and editing of English and Turkish documents and related project outputs

Qualifications:           

  • University degree in Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Social Science or a related field.
  • Having a history of working with refugee groups and being particularly willing to work with refugee women and children.
  • Fluency in English and Turkish is required, Arabic is an asset.
  • Planning and Organizing – plans work, anticipates risks, and sets goals within area of responsibility
  • Efficient knowledge on MS Office Programs
  • Result oriented acting with problem-solving
  • Turkish citizenship

Personal Qualities:     The incumbent should have excellent monitoring, reporting, presentation, facilitation and communication skills, should be able to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision, should be tactful and have good interpersonal communication and writing skills, should promote team work and contribute towards building team consensus and acts as a team player.
