About the team.

Asian Pacific Development Center is powered by its rich heritage of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander advocacy and exists today to serve and support all immigrant and refugee communities with a whole health, community-based engagement approach through health, education, and advocacy. APDC is Colorados leading immigrant and refugee services provider, supporting communities through culturally relevant, in-language health, education, and advocacy services.

APDC victim assistance department is a grant funded, service provider of free and confidential case management to all victims of crime in Colorado. Our department serves all victims of crimes with the state of Colorado, which includes those under the Victims Right Act (VRA) and non-VRA crime victims from the immigrant and refugee communities. The victim assistance department provides comprehensive, culturally appropriate prevention and follow-up services to marginalized communities who may be victims of various crimes by addressing emotional, mental and physical needs to stabilize their lives, enhance safety and security, and enable successful interactions with the criminal justice system as needed.

About the role.

Responsible for providing direct services and case management to all victims of crime across Colorado. This role also provides mobile advocacy, outreach/education in communities, and administrative tasks such as recordkeeping and report writing of client services and data.

**NOTE: This is a grant funded position through December 31st, 2022

Responsibilities:
Build relationships with various service provider agencies and advance a policy agenda within the criminal justice system or victim advocacy that will benefit the AANHPI, immigrant, and refugee communities in Colorado.

Provide direct services through mobile advocacy, support, safety planning, and criminal justice advocacy based on victims needs and assessments.

Oversee and maintain confidential client records.

Provide biweekly case updates to the Victim Advocate Coordinator.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with court, law enforcement, and victim assistance agencies.

Participate and offer outreach efforts to communities within the Denver Metro areas, Greeley/Fort Morgan, Colorado Springs, and Western Slope regions.

Provide coverage at primary APDC offices as well as satellite offices as needed.

Assist in monitoring and recording data and progress towards program goals and objectives.

Provide appropriate referral information to victims.

Attend and participate in training opportunities directly related to the position as they are made available.

Perform additional tasks as requested by the Victim Assistance management.

About you.

The ideal candidate should have prior experience in victim advocacy and working with similar client group.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED

Preferred: 4 year college degree in a related field

Two years’ experience in victim advocacy, social services, human services, or a related field

This position is required to be on call for the 24-hour crisis line on a rotating basis with the other staff from Victim Assistance Department.

Prior experience or demonstrate knowledge of victim advocacy, trauma, and crisis intervention, be culturally responsive

Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Ability to execute independent judgment with minimal guidance and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced, high output environment.

Excellent communication (oral and written) and teamwork skills are a necessity.

Must have experience with case management and data collection.

Demonstrate proficiency in statistical data maintenance and report writing.

Ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and determine an appropriate course of action.

Strong computer and analytical skills, utilizing Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

Preference will be given to candidates that are bilingual (Arabic, French, Vietnamese, Japanese, Burmese, Korean, Tagalog, Mandarin/Cantonese, Khmer, etc.)

Requires possession of a valid Colorado Driver License, access to reliable vehicle and adequate car insurance.

Compensation, Benefits & Perks.

Salary for this role (based on experience and company equity):

$16.05 – $24.07 hourly
