Background:
Mission East, founded in Denmark in 1991, is an international humanitarian and development organisation undertaking disaster relief and development programmes in Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Asia.
In Iraq, Mission East provides assistance for both urgent basic needs for those displaced by violence as well as longer-term support for returnees and IDPs in protracted displacement settings. Our current programme includes NFI and shelter, cash transfers, WASH assistance, livelihoods support, protection and psychosocial support activities delivered through multi-purpose community centres.

A. Finance
• Make payments and receive funds in accordance with finance procedures
• Examine supporting documents such as documents and signature are valid
• Prepare payment vouchers, and receipt vouchers.
• Classifying and archiving financial documentation.
• Prepare cheques/payment orders and ensure that they are properly delivered.
• Record all transactions, on manual/computer systems as appropriate.
• Manage the petty cash
• Be responsible for petty cash held in the office.
• Prepare Petty Cash Form, and request additional cash as necessary.
• Carry out cash count every week.
• Ensure that all accounts records are filed in an orderly manner.
• Monthly financial closure and trial balance
• Monthly cash forecast
• Follow up on field finance activities
• Field visit
• Undertake and other duties that may be requested by the Head of Finance and Administration
Qualifications required:
Education should be of degree level in Finance, Business Administration or Economics.
Experience required: 1-2 years of accounting and finance experience, preferably with non-governmental organization.
Necessary Competencies: Ability to work effectively with an ethnically diverse team in a sensitive environment.
Personnel management skills: ability to delegate, follow-up, supervise and support.
Knowledge of SPHERE and other humanitarian programming standards.
Fluency in spoken and written Kurdish. Working knowledge of English would be an asset.
