As a result, the organization was founded on 6/10/2013 and start to contributed in distribution of many needs
And relief assistance to the families that affected by war And disasters, and the organization is working to access humanitarian and relief assistance such as materials Food and life requirements to the poor, the destitute, , and the displaced ,And to help those affected by the war as well as paying special attention to women Children and people with special needs are concerned, with issues of women and children Contributing to support and raising their skills, as well as caring for widows, orphans and the oppressed.
Brief :
The project will target primarily youth from all groups in rural areas of Anbar and Ninewa with an aim for 40% of clients to be female. It will apply a conflict-sensitive approach to target the youth most affected by years of conflict with IS and COVID-19. This includes small family farmers, particularly poor ones and those who practice rain-fed agriculture or operate in socially fragile areas.
Strengthen economic resilience, food security, and peaceful coexistence for individuals and communities affected by conflict, displacement and COVID-19 in IS-liberated areas of Ninewa and Anbar.
- Enhanced social cohesion and peace within and between communities.
- Vulnerable, conflict affected individuals have sufficient and equitable access to safe and nutritious food, livelihoods opportunities, and are economically resilient.
The program Manager:
The Social Cohesion and Livelihood Manager, based in AL Anbar – Ramadi, will make regular trips to the project implementation areas. She/He will be in charge of the overall management of the implementation of activities with the support of the officers in partnership with the local implementing partners. She/He will be responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of project activities. She/He ensures the existence of monitoring and evaluation tools and ensures compliance with the requirements of the donor in carrying out activities. She/He will be the first person in charge in the drafting of the reports to be shared with the donor (monthly, quarterly and annual); which implies an excellent approach in data collection. As a strategic staff in the organization, She/He participates in the search for funding and the development of new project proposals (concept note) in accordance with its business sectors. She/He must communicate regularly with the DDP to find solutions to the problems encountered in the implementation of the activities. In addition, she/he must regularly seek the support of her/his technical supervisor both at SSORD and at the consortium level to ensure the good quality of the team’s services.
Responsibility and Tasks:
She/he will be required to:
- 1. Implementation and management of project activities
- Set up and update the project management tools: workplan, spending plan, procurement plan and the indicator monitoring table;
- Prepare and ensure the presentation on the progress of the project during the project evaluation and monitoring meetings at SSORD and consortium level;
- Write donor reports including the collection of information from the various business sectors and the preparation of complete internal and external reports (monthly, quarterly and annual);
- Participate in the search for funding and the development of new project proposals and concept notes, particularly in the field of social cohesion and livelihood;
- Ensure the compliance of program activities with the commitments made to the donor and the orientations of the consortium;
- Respond to all requests for information or external solicitations related to the project as a whole;
- Plan and support officers in the implementation of the following activities
- Map local stakeholders and conduct stakeholder analysis;
- Lead on the planning and implementation of the capacity assessment exercises for the implementing partners;
- Establishment/strengthening of community groups such as peace committees, youth committees, and women committees;
- Organize of community-based social cohesion and livelihood events, such as participatory sessions to identify and analyze conflicts while ensuring Do No Harm, community, community awareness sessions on the risks of community conflicts in their communities, intra / inter-community dialogues for conflict management, community mobilization activities during international days, and annual workshops to assess community action plans;
- Participate in the development of training modules on sensitizing communities on the risks of community conflicts in their communities.
- Organize capacity sharing activities from the local partners, local committees, and local authorities on social cohesion, governance, and livelihood priorities;
- Develop and disseminate key messages for the prevention of community conflicts;
- Develop strategies at the local level on social cohesion, conflict management and risk mapping;
- Celebrate champions and model hills in social cohesion on the International Day of Peace;
- Make beneficiaries aware of COVID-19 prevention measures
- Monitoring and evaluation and reporting on project activities
- Plan and support officers in the organization of monitoring and evaluation sessions for conflict management activities;
- Participate in data collection activities with beneficiaries (Baseline, midline and end line survey);
- Regularly complete, with the support of officers, the database and dashboard of project indicators at the end of each month and share with the M&E team;
- Complete the reporting tools in consultation with the M&E department and respond to any comments;
- Ensure that documents relating to activities and other project resources are filed and archived by officers (lists of participants, activity reports as well as supporting documents for expenses incurred);
- For each activity, make sure that the database has been updated.
- Administrative, financial and logistical management
- Work closely with the Governance Coordinator on the overall management of the project: compliance with commitments and deadlines, planning and systematic monitoring of budgets;
- Work closely with the Governance Coordinator and the officers to ensure monthly expenditure forecasts for project activities and submit them to the hierarchy for consolidation;
- Revise the expenditure plan according to the activity planning;
- Ensure expenditure compliance with SSORD and donor policies and procedures;
- Regularly analyze the BVA in order to be reassured of the correct allocation of activity expenses;
- Monitor the supply of project equipment by maintaining regular exchanges with the logistics team;
- Ensure the management of project assets and monitor their inventory at the appropriate time;
- Communicate to the hierarchy any decommissioning and / or deterioration of project equipment;
- Make sure that any transfer / donation of equipment is accompanied by the relevant documents;
- Organize and plan the movements of project staff in collaboration with the logistics team;
- Make sure that all service and consultancy contracts are properly classified within the framework of this project.
- Communication and collaboration
Ensure the representation of project activities in the field of social cohesion and livelihood;
- Participate, if and when possible, in the coordination meetings of the management team at the SSORD Iraq office;
- Ensure quality representation of SSORD with partners and during consortium meetings;
- Coordinate field visits by donors and other people external to the program.
- Human Resources
- Revise / develop the terms of reference and job description for the staff under her/his supervision or the consultants;
- Participate in the recruitment and training of project staff following internal SSORD procedures;
- Ensure the management of the team for the implementation of project activities with a satisfactory level of quality;
- Ensure that program staff have the technical support and supervision necessary to perform their functions by regularly organizing coaching sessions, briefings-feedback and facilitating participation in training;
- Follow up on evaluations and performance objectives of project staff;
- Recommend when necessary to the field coordinator disciplinary measures against offending employees;
- Contribute to the promotion and systematic integration of the gender aspect in the SSORD Iraq program;
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s degree social sciences, community development, economic development, NGO management, Governance, or any other similar training;
- Work experience of at least 5 years in project management and coordination, including at least 2 years in a position of social cohesion and livelihood officer;
- Demonstrated knowledge on peaceful conflict management and non-violent communication, conflict risk mapping, community engagement, community-driven development, participatory development processes, livelihood development, private-sector engagement;
- Experience working with communities, particularly in conflict-affected areas;
- Experience working with vulnerable people representing different backgrounds;
- Have a minimum of 5 years experience in NGOs;
- Demonstrated experience in working with local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs);
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating and working with local and national government representatives;
- Demonstrated experience in team management and budget management required;
- A good understanding of the gender issue;
- Good ability to work independently as well as in a team;
- Organizational and communication skills;
- Computer skills, especially MS Word, Excel and Power Point;
- Demonstrate tact and a keen sense of discretion;
- – Competitive experience/ skills in livelihoods – 2 years minimum of experience in livelihoods field.

- Report any violation of the Code of Conduct to the hierarchical superior; it is everyone’s duty;
- Contribute as much as possible to the achievement of admissibility objectives including SSORD commitments to CHS (Core Humanitarian Standards);
- Maintain the confidentiality of all information acquired during the performance of his duties and responsibilities, whether from colleagues or concerning any other activity carried out by the SSORD in general and which has not yet been made public by the direction.
