Main tasks
- Develop eligibility criteria for selection of sheep breeders in coordination with the Directorate General of Agriculture in Duhok Governorate (DGoA Duhok) and the PCPM team.
- Support the selection of most eligible sheep breeders (from among the lists already provided by DGoA Duhok) through a joint committee comprised of the Trainer, representatives of the DGoA Duhok and the PCPM team
- Identify training topics, develop the training curriculum, materials, and agenda (all in Kurdish) in cooperation with DGoA, and share them with the PCPM team for review and approval.
- Develop pre- and post-training (test) questionnaire (in Kurdish) and share them with PCPM for review and approval.
- Conduct a three-day training (theoretical and practical) for a total of 60-80 sheep breeders in 4 locations (Sheikhan district center, Atrush, Ba’adre and Qasrok) – one location at a time. Each group of training participants will include 20-25 sheep breeders from the respective sub-district/agricultural zone.
- submit a brief training report to PCPM including the training topics delivered, observations/comments on participants responsiveness, feedback from participants, analysis of pre- and-post training (test) results, and recommendations for future trainings and follow-up actions
Minimum qualifications:
- Education: preferably advanced university degree in animal production/resources or other relevant field of study.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant theoretical and practical field experience in one or more of the following areas: animal production, and animal resources, animal husbandry/breeding.
- Experience in conducting similar trainings (theoretical and practical components).
- Excellent communication skills particularly in Kurdish and group work
- Fluency in written and spoken Kurdish. Knowledge of English is also preferable.
- Ability to work with/or lead a team including facilitators and assistants.
