Provides a broad range of complex, in-depth financial and budget analysis research for business units and the company. Develops and interprets financial reports. Performs cost/benefit analysis and completes financial forecasts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains confidentiality of CDS Global and its clients’ proprietary information.
Works with and assists operations managers to improve information flow (volumes and measures) and accounting controls (budget and actual revenues and expenses).
Generates ideas and develops techniques to assist finances distribution of information more effectively (reducing data input and increasing accuracy and turnaround time of actual/budget information to all departments).
Establishes and maintains efficient and effective volumes to revenue measurement for key indicator analysis.
Establishes and maintains various monthly analysis reports (revenue, expense, and payroll) for Hearst and internal management.
Updates and maintains monthly client activity and profitability reports.
Develops and continually improves some areas of the revenue/expense forecast cycle and budgeting process.
Serves as backup in preparation of any/all monthly reports prepared by manager as needed.
Develops and prepares annual reviews on a client level for Publisher Services Directors.
Develops new reporting styles, formats, and indicators for upper management review/approval as required or requested.
May occasionally travel.
Works extended hours as job dictates.
Organizes tasks and resources to complete work and meet deadlines according to established departmental procedures.
Interacts in cooperative and professional manner with employees, clients and/or vendors in team-oriented environment.
Follows all CDS Global ergonomic and safety policies.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as point of reference for questions from business units concerning the profit & loss statement, G/L (general ledger), A/P (accounts payable), etc.
Performs additional duties as required or requested.
EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND LICENSING
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or comparable work experience.
Five or more years of progressively complex Financial Analyst and/or Financial and Corporate Accounting experience.
Above average PC skill/knowledge and experience with Excel.
Experience with Oracle Smart View is helpful/preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting data and finding solutions to difficult and/or complex business problems.
Demonstrated experience making decisions on a variety of tasks requiring discretion, initiative.
Advanced math skills.
Demonstrated experience reacting to change and remaining productive.
If required to travel, has access to transportation requiring a valid driver’s license, proof of safe driving record and active insurance.
