VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Human for Human local NGO based in Karbala  is seeking for qualified applicants for the below post to work within the Basra or Diwaniyah:

Duration: 11 months with possible extension

Reports to: Admin Officer

Reporting lines : Logistic Officer

Subordinates: Head of Officer

 

Human for Human organization is an Iraqi local organization working in central and south of Iraq. The organization most specialized field of work is relief programs, capacity building and development. The organization has received funds from United Nations, international governmental funds and international donor organizations. H4H is focusing on child protection, youth development and economic development.

 

Position Summary

The role of the guard is to be responsible for guarding all H4H premises in Basra and Diwaniyah through maintaining proper access control procedures and patrolling both interior and exterior. The guard will ensure that doors are locked and the compound is secure. The guard will ensure that all log sheets are timely and accurately logged and maintained. The guard is part of a team of guards that are required to work together, demonstrating teamwork, unity and as part of a team made up of both international and national staff.

 

Location:

H4H seeks qualified candidates to fill 2 positions in H4H offices, the staff will be required to work 5 days and for 40 hours.

 

 

ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The post-holder will, at all times, carry out their responsibilities with the utmost respect for the protection of children in accordance with H4H Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Policy
  • The post-holder will be expected to behave in accordance with H4H’s ‘Code of Conduct’ as referred to in the Personal Conduct Policy.
  • The post-holder will be required to help meet the needs of all, regardless of ethnicity, gender or religious beliefs in line with H4H’s commitment to impartiality.

 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct regular Patrols in H4H office to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates are kept locked.
  • Manage access control through monitoring and authorizing entrance and departure of employees and visitors
  • Manage visitor badge issuance system and retention of IDs at the reception area until visitors or casuals have signed out.
  • Ensure that visitors, staff and casuals correctly sign in and out.
  • Confirm appointments with office staff before visitors are allowed in (check with receiver of visitor if the visitor is expected)
  • Prevent unauthorized persons from entering H4H office.
  • Maintain a daily occurrence log of activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or any unusual occurrences.
  • Guard H4H facilities, structures and properties in the office.
  • Protect and preserve staff, property and materials within H4H office in Basra or Al-Dewaniah .
  • Prepare a formal handover of duties to the Head of Office.
  • Attentively monitor security cameras, staying focused throughout working hours to monitor the status of office and reports any suspicious movements.
  • Provide formal report/s as soon as possible on any security incident with in H4H office (including attempts to enter by any unauthorized person).
  • Provide a friendly welcome to those visiting H4H office.
  • Accurately fill and maintain log books, including the usage of generator.
  • Be prepared and ready to respond to security situations that may arise; and keep the Head of Office informed of any changes in the security situation.
  • Help maintain the exterior of the property.
  • Other duties as may reasonably be expected.

 

TEAMWORK AND LEADERSHIP

  • Participate as a team member and promote respect and unity between all team members.
  • Uphold staff conduct and discipline with regard to H4H’s health and safety and security procedures.

CORPORATE POLICY AND COMPLIANCE

  • Responsible for personal compliance with the policies and procedures set out in H4H’s Programme Logistics Manual and other policy and procedure manuals that may be

applicable to a specific activity or situation (e.g. Security, Finance, HR policies).
