Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) is one of the UNDP’s six Global Policy Centers. IICPSD supports the private sector and foundations to become transformative partners in development through research, advocacy, facilitation of public-private dialogue and brokering partnerships. IICPSD leads UNDP’s global work on private sector and foundations and supports UNDP’s offices all around the world. Moreover, under the thematic area of private sector’s role in skills generation, IICPSD offers evidence-based knowledge and advisory services aiming to expand job opportunities for the disadvantaged through increasing the private sector’s engagement in skills development.
The intern will work on Skills for an Inclusive Future (S4IF), a multi-stakeholder partnership initiative, hosted by UNDP and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The overall aim of the S4IF network is to unlock the transformative potential of the private sector to equip disadvantaged populations with skills for the future, such as digital transformation, future of work, and the green economy, while also helping affected businesses and individuals recover from the COVID-19 crisis. S4IF integrates existing efforts in private sector engagement in skills development initiatives and draw on expertise and experiences that are global in breadth, whilst ensuring knowledge sharing is actionable and locally relevant. IICPSD offers internship opportunities for outstanding graduate-level students. The research internship programme provides direct exposure to IICPSD’s work as a center of excellence for the private sector’s role in development and inclusive markets. The programme is designed to provide support to IICPSD’s applied research and policy advisory services as well as to complement the interns’ practical experience in various issues related to private sector engagement, human capital development, impact investing in the achievement of SDGs and other topics of international development. More information about UNDP’s private sector related work can be found online at www.iicpsd.org The Programme operates under the rules and regulations of the UNDP Internship Policy. |
