SWEDO is a Swedish non-profit, non-political, non-religious development aid organization that was founded in 1991 in Stockholm, Sweden. Having continuously operated in the Kurdistan Region ever since, SWEDO’s main priorities of work are construction and infrastructure activities, refugee and IDP initiatives, health, water, sanitation and hygiene, and capacity building.

Summary:

The Information and Feedback Point Officer (IFP Officer) is responsible for the daily operations of the accountability mechanism in Refugee and IDP camps. The Information and Feedback Point supports the Accountability and Outreach Team Leader and the Accountability and Outreach Manager to implement the units Accountability project component in Erbil.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in close partnership with the Erbil Joint Crisis and Coordination Center (EJCCC) IFP;
  • Provide timely and accurate inputs to reports on IFP activities and data in line with the Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Record accountability data, and issues reported by members of the community on a daily basis using an electronic data collection platform;
  • Attend IFP team meetings in the camps, and take an active role in following up with partners and feedback to the community;
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all actors in the camp, coordinate and interact with them as necessary to fulfill the duties of the position;
  • Assist with IFP information assessments and service mapping activities;
  • Report and deliver regular feedback to the Accountability Team Leader on updates and status of activities, to be shared with the program unit to feed into, and strengthen SWEDO’s overall activities linking to Accountability;
  • Active role in community outreach and awareness raising sessions;
  • Providing timely and accurate inputs to reports on IFP activities and data in line with the Standard Operating Procedures;
  • Recording accountability data, and issues reported by members of the community on a daily basis using an electronic data collection platform (e.g. KOBO and ODK);
  • Attending IFP team meetings in the camps, taking an active role in follow up with partners and feedback to the community;
  • Maintaining a positive working relationship with all actors in the camp, coordinating and interacting with them as necessary to fulfil the duties of the position;
  • Assisting with IFP information assessments and service mapping activities;
  • Participate, and where appropriate, facilitate capacity building and technical training sessions;
  • Undertake any other tasks, within the framework of his/her position, as requested by his/her supervisor.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

 

  • Bachelor degree in sociology or human science;
  • At least two years’ experience in the same position or field;
  • Fluency in Kurdish and Arabic languages, English is a plus;
  • Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources;
  • Critical thinking skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for Capability to create strong partnerships among all program stakeholders;
  • Attention to detail when working with information and describing the complaints and referral mechanism;
  • Ability to learn new skills and new technologies;
  • Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations;
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines required;
  • Working in close partnership with other officers, mobilizers and community volunteers in a respectful and effective manner.
