Mercy Hands for Humanitarian Aid (MH) is a leading Iraqi NGO, founded in 2004 with the goal to save lives and preserve human dignity. MH in partnership with Mercy Corps (MC) is implementing a project in Sinjar Governorate with the aim of Building Resilience Against Violent Extremism (BRAVE) funded by GIZ.
A part of the project consists in providing training sessions for Youth Leader Groups (YLGs) related to PVE (Preventing Violent Extremist), Civic Engagement, and Project Management.
The driver is responsible for driving program staff safely between work locations, as well as ensuring proper maintenance of the vehicle and that the vehicle is fueled on time for trips. The driver should follow MH policies and procedures as well as Iraqi road rules.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance of the vehicle; alert the direct supervisor in case of technical problem or need of maintenance.
- Complying with Government approvals and liaising with local authorities if necessary
- Maintain a valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and relevant permits at all times
- Supporting the logistics team as required
- Minimum 1 year experience in driving, preferably previous experience with NGOs.
- Knowledge of local context and geographical area.
