Role and responsibilities

Generic responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  2. Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
  3. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  4. Ensure proper filing of documents
  5. Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
  6. Provide regular progress reports to Area Manager (AM), Project Managers (PMs) and M&E Coordinator          
  7. Coordinate process to establish and/or standardize program level M&E systems
  8. Support in developing data collection methodology and tools, and in actual data collection, as needed
  9. Support and contribute to the development of a data management system through documentation, implementation and coordination of standardizes information flow of M&E activities and reporting
  10. Conduct field monitoring and verification of implemented projects as needed

Specific responsibilities:

  1. Support in developing data collection methodology and tools, and in actual data collection, as needed
  2. Support in data management and development of clear information flow between program and M&E staff
  3. Conduct qualitative and quantitative field monitoring and verification of project implementation
  4. Ensure that monitoring data are reported on a timely manner to relevant program and managerial staff
  5. Contribute to area level M&E concept note development and participate in log frame design during project proposal and planning process
  6. Capacity building and training of program staff on M&E technical and conceptual areas, as needed
  7. Any other task relevant to the position as requested by line manager and Country Office (CO) M&E Coordinator

Competencies  

  • University bachelor degree preferably in social science, economics, rural development or in other related fields
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in an international/local non-governmental organization (I/NGO) preferably in an emergency or post-conflict setting, including M&E capacity and systems development
  • Experience with and knowledge of principles and current approaches to monitoring and evaluation in relief and/or development programs, using both quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Fluency in English and Arabic both written and verbal

Other information:

  • Contract Duration: 12 months ( with the possibility of extension)
  • Duty Station: Nenawa – based Mosul with traveling 70% to other intervention areas.
  • Health Insurance is provided 
  • Salary: G5/S1, According to NRC’s Iraq salary scale and terms and conditions.
