PRESENTATION OF THE ORGANIZATION

SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL is a well-recognized emergency humanitarian actor operating in Iraq since 2017 with strong expertise in the WASH sector providing support to the most vulnerable populations affected by displacement and conflict. The organization has had a continuous presence in Mosul areas (including the suburb Muhallabiyah) and refugee camps in Dohuk governorate (Gawilan and Bardarash camp)

 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Water sanitation and Hygiene Promoters Daily worker are essentially extension agents who work with local communities and individuals in improved Handwashing, Water storage COVID-19, waste management, and other environmental sanitation efforts. Hygiene Promoters Daily worker are assigned to work with a variety Solidarities international non-governmental organizations involved in public health, and water, sanitation, and hygiene activities in informal and collective centers in Nineveh at Mosul and Tal-Afar districts.

 

OVERALL ACTIVITIES SUBJECT:

• Promotion of basic health practices to improve drinking water quality and hygiene
• Promotion of better environmental sanitation practices through improved domestic waste disposal practices, and the implementation of improved community waste disposal systems.
• Promotion of positive community behavior change using extension, communication, and education techniques

 

RESPONSIBILITY:

1. Under the guidance of WASH officer, develop Daily activity action plan, and implement the same as per the guidance provided by the WASH officer.
2. Conduct hygiene promotion sessions focusing on proper hand washing, safe excreta disposal, safe household water management, latrine usage and other key hygiene messages through home to home visits, group discussions/community meetings, targeting community of the assigned village and key community members (religious leaders, elders etc.) to promote good hygiene practices and discourage bad practices.
3. Support WASH Committees in conducting cleaning campaigns
4. Collect demographic data as per guidance of WASH officer.
5. Contribute in targeting beneficiaries, promoting effective use of latrines and safe water, and follow up of hygiene kits.
6. Support WASH team during Distribution of hygiene and summarization kits
7. Distribution and locating of IEC materials
8. Prepare Daily/weekly report and sharing it with WASH officer
9. Any additional responsibility assigned by WASH team.

 

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

• Have a bachelor, diploma degree or equivalent
• Good background about WASH
• Good communication skills
• Previous Experience in WASH sector

 

Note:

– Females are highly encouraged to apply

– Daily Rate: 30,000 IQD

– Duration of work: 6 Days, extendable as per need.
