Our Team

 Oxfam in Iraq is working with more than 20 local/national NGOs across the country that had allowed expansion of our geographic and thematic scope and enriched our knowledge of context and dynamics, as well as building and strengthening capacity in local humanitarian leadership (LHL) and working with other local and international actors to transform humanitarian system to be more flexible and agile and be locally led.

Oxfam in Iraq supported 15 local and national partner organizations across five governates (Salahelddin, Anbar, Kirkuk, Ninewa, and Diyala) to build their institutional and thematic capacities through the SIDA funded project “Building local humanitarian leadership (LHL) for effective and efficient humanitarian response” 2018-2021. Oxfam is investing in LHL campaign and network strengthening through projects supported by Oxfam America (project “Aid Hero Campaign) and Wellspring (project “Strengthening LHL network in Iraq). In addition, Oxfam in Iraq is working with number of local and national actors including NGOs, government authorities, women rights organizations, youth and volunteers organizations, and networks etc.

The partnership team leads and facilitates the LHL and transformative partnerships work across different projects and programs in the country and provides support to the Oxfam field offices as well as the partners we work with. The team focuses on the following key objectives:

  • To facilitate strengthening of transformative partnerships in Oxfam in Iraq with a focus on equality and diversity
  • To uphold the principles of partnerships and commitments in Charter for Change
  • To strengthen the local humanitarian leadership among local and national humanitarian actors in Iraq

 

Job Purpose

Implementing emergency food security, livelihood and cash transfer programs under the supervision of Project Officer, and Project Manager To implement activities in programs under Emergency Food Security, Vulnerable Livelihoods (EFSVL) and Cash Programming as key member of the EFSVL & Cash team in Oxfam’s areas of operation in Baghdad, Iraq.  Key areas of intervention include, but not limited to cash, small business grants for assets recovery, and micro businesses activities, technical and vocational skills training, Job Placement and employability trainings, career counselling, data base management, archiving of training documents and beneficiaries information, and business management trainings.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementation of emergency food security, livelihood, and cash programming activities within the project timeframe and quality standards, with a special focus data base management for beneficiaries, monitoring of employability trainings and career counselling sessions provided online by the service provider, tracking the beneficiaries progress and attendance of trainings, and managing the supporting documents such as: attendance sheets, pre-post tests, training evaluations (used of google forms), and archive it within Oxfam’s cloud service.
  • Participate in field-level assessments including, but not limited to, need assessment, HH vulnerability assessment, and other types of assessment as assigned by the team leader.
  • Identification, registration, and verification of vulnerable households and individuals as per the approved selection criteria.
  • Vendor/shops identification and market actors to participate in the food security, livelihoods, and Cash and Voucher activities as per the standard market/vendor identification tools.
  • Follow the standard procedures for cash and voucher interventions, including compliance with relevant policies and criteria relating to Emergency Food Security, Vulnerable Livelihoods, Cash and Voucher programming, including best practices and donors’ policies.
  • Ensure proper community engagement and clear communication with the community.
  • Strict compliance to cash transfers SOPs and policies as per the Oxfam’s internal standards, donors, and international humanitarian standards.
  • Maintain the records of all the activities under EFSVL and Cash Programs: Master Beneficiary List, Actual Beneficiary Distribution Lists, Community Meeting Minutes, attendance sheets, pre & post-tests, and other related documentation of the project activities.
  • Work closely with MEAL staff, conduct monitoring of all activities post-distribution, and collate information to share with other staff.
  • Visit vendors for data collection and other cash-based programming related activities.
  • Provide general support to field team.
  • Any other business required by the management.

 

Skills & Experiences

  • Good knowledge in training monitoring and evaluation.
  • Good knowledge in using online meeting platforms such as Zoom, MS teams, Google class and Google meet.
  • Excellent skills in MS Excel, with data base management and archiving skills.
  • Motivated and Excited to join Oxfam team, and to have a field level experience in the business development sector.
  • Ability to work effectively with others, adaptable and flexible.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work sensitively with people from various cultural and social backgrounds.  
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to improve planning, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluently in Arabic, both written and spoken.
  • Good in English, both written and spoken.
