Position Highlights The Center for English as a Second Language (CESL) at the University of Arizona is the only CEA accredited (Commission on English Language Program Accreditation) in Arizona. CESL offers high-quality English language and teacher training programs on the main campus and around the world. CESL is searching for an Admissions Office Specialist (Registration and Records Assistant II) to assist in our admissions processes and to serve as the front-line liaison to communicate information to students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, external agencies, international guests, and the general public in a diverse cultural environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
ADMISSIONS & REGISTRATION:
Assist Admissions Coordinator in managing CESL enrollment, including inquiries, admissions processing, immigration, registration, document review, communications, and enrollment for all CESL programs
Communicate with sponsored students and sponsoring agencies
Participate in Admissions portion of student intake and registration
Review student attendance reports and issue student communications, such as attendance warning letters
Prepare documents such as transcripts, certificates, endorsement letters, and official student records
Communicate with ISS, UG, and GC regarding UA admission of CESL students, as needed
Complete University Track registration and for-credit course creation processes including liaising with appropriate UA departments for credit course enrollment, as appropriate
Handle all aspects of UT registration, immunization submission, and payment processes in Community Campus for-credit UG U-Track courses
Receive and process applications for multiple programs, including using/updating student files, CESL’s database, Excel, Jupiter, Docuware and other systems
Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) and perform immigration updates in SEVIS, as well as other duties associated with this role
Process applications for CEPT Full Academic and CEPT OPI applicants by maintaining appropriate systems, communicating with stakeholders (Examity, CESL’s Assessment Coordinator, and test-takers), and generating reports.
Complete admissions-related tasks for to the TEFL program, including generating and sending certificates, generating appropriate letters, updating the TEFL spreadsheet, etc.
OFFICE/ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:
Serve as the initial contact person for all inquiries received, including in-person, via internet, and via telephone
Serve as public notary for CESL documents; coordinate authentication process
Accurately receive payments via cash, credit card, check, money order and traveler’s check
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
Experience with computer software including Microsoft Office Suite required.
English communication (both spoken and written communication) required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with international students
Bilingual in English and also Arabic, Mandarin or Spanish
Experience in intercultural communication
Experience with multiple University of Arizona software programs
