UN Women (the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women), grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
This Request for Proposals is launched in the context of the project ‘Strengthening Resilience of Syrian and Host Community Women by Evidence-Based Data and Gender-Responsive Support’ to be implemented by the UN Women Turkey Office between July 2021 and July 2022 with funding from the Kingdom of Norway.
Objective of this assignment:
The objective of the assignment is to collect up-to-date information on the imminent and long-term needs and status of Syrian women and girls under temporary protection and women and girls from other nationalities in Turkey and to identify gender-based and intersectional challenges faced by them. Results of the research are expected to contribute to informed policy-making and response as well as evidence-based advocacy to advance the status and rights of refugee women and girls in Turkey and their access to services and opportunities.
