The Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District (THPRD) is now accepting applications for bilingual customer engagement representative to establish an eligibility list for current and future vacancies. The eligibility list shall be active for one year unless canceled due to insufficient candidates.
The Customer Engagement Representative is responsible for providing a welcoming and inclusive office environment for both patrons and staff. The focus of this position is front desk operations and customer service. Successful applicants will have at least one year of experience providing administrative and clerical support within a department, and an interest for public service. Bilingual skills are required for current vacancies and a bilingual pay incentive will be provided.
Bilingual skills in one or more languages is required for this position. Eligible languages include Arabic, Hindi, Korean, Spanish or Vietnamese. Language need and selection will be based facility and operational need.
The Customer Engagement Representative will report directly to the center supervisor and may exercise lead direction over part-time employees.
Key components of the job include (but are not limited to):
Engaging and building rapport with patrons, visitors and the community at district centers and facilities by creating a welcoming and inclusive experience.
Perform a wide variety of office and clerical duties at a large, fast-paced recreation center.
Assist the public with program enrollment, by signing participants up for classes, receipting money, and performing related registration procedures.
Reconcile daily cash receipts, petty cash, refunds and prepare bank deposits. for

Total compensation also includes an exceptional benefits package including an option for fully-paid family medical and dental care premiums, generous paid time off, and meaningful work. THPRD also offers a hybrid pension plan (not PERS) that provides for both a defined benefit pension plan of 1.5% at age 65 paid by the employer and a defined contribution plan that is funded by a mandatory 6% employee contribution in which employees are immediately vested.
