Context/Reporting line:
Under the general guidance of the Head, Community Stabilization Unit, the overall supervision of the Program
Coordinator -Legal Support, the administrative supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO) and the direct
supervision of the National Field Coordinator in close coordination with the CSU Area Coordinator, the
candidate will perform the following duties:
Core Functions / Responsibilities
1. Attend an induction training to understand IOM CSU’s different legal programs and areas of focus,
focusing on HLP and other legal issues in Iraq, dispute resolution techniques, case management, roles
and responsibilities of the CSU HLP teams, and reporting requirements.
2. Support with conducting awareness-raising sessions to community members and stakeholders on legal
issues, including HLP and civil documentation.
3. Work with relevant CSU staff to update, manage, and enhance the case-management system related to
the project beneficiaries and objectives.
4. Support in coordinating and liaising with local authorities, stakeholders, and community-leaders who
will be relevant to the project.
5. Support the project Lawyer in conducting trainings on HLP and civil documentation to communitymembers
and stakeholders.
6. Work with CSU staff on the Information Counselling and Referral Service (ICRS) mechanism for
collecting information and data related to cases identified during the project
7. Support the project Lawyer as needed in providing legal consultations or representation to individuals
identified during the project who have HLP issues or other legal needs.
8. Compile and create case reports and summaries using tracking tools and reporting templates.
9. Coordinate and follow-up with implementing partners and CSOs selected during the project.
10. Consult with relevant staff from IOM on legal assistance related issues, including support in drafting
forms, templates, and procedures.
11. Profile all cases and follow up on progress of each case.
12. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Education:
 University Degree in law, Political Science, Social Studies, Information Management, Computer
Science, or relevant field of study. from an accredited academic university or institute.
Experience and Skills:
 Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
 Experience of working with clients or customers to solve problems.
 Experience in communicating and working with a wide range of actors, including people of culturally
diverse backgrounds, government and authorities, humanitarian actors (UN agencies and NGOs).
 Experience working in development or humanitarian programming (specifically in International or
National NGO/UN) is an asset
 Computer literacy with specific proficiency in Microsoft applications.
 Reliable, efficient, high level of professionalism, and organizational skills.
 Good analytical skills for financial data, strong sense of details and accuracy.
 Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
Languages:
 Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
