Position Summary:
The responsibility of the Chef is to prepare and cook wholesome food and assign duties to the kitchen brigade while maintaining the highest level of service. The chef must show strong organizational and leadership skills in all facets of kitchen management and to help create an exemplary team environment for the staff to work in.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Menu planning.
- To prepare, cook and present nutritious meals.
- To manage the kitchen and restaurant staff and supervise staff members.
- Inventory management.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen, restaurant, and stores.
- Instruct the staff to follow the daily cleaning schedule.
- Manage the cleaning of the outside area of the kitchen, restaurant, and stores.
- Follow and observe all Health and Safety procedures in the kitchen.
- Ensure all health, safety and environmental standards are achieved and managed.
- Wear the correct staff uniform and hair restraints. Use gloves for food preparation.
- Coordinate staff meetings and staff training when required.
- Willingness to learn and teach about food and the latest culinary techniques.
- Ensure that all equipment is in good condition and to report any problems or defects.
- Adhere to working times as determined by your contract.
- To be flexible in approach to working hours and shifts.
- Comply with current food hygiene regulations.
- Temperature control and monitoring.
- Sanitise all work surfaces areas after use.
- To maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be of legal age to work by require age of 18 or older by labour law.
- Must be able to consolidate and coordinate needs for all works area.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any related customer service/oriented experience will be considered.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be fit and Healthy and have an up-date Yellow Card with Doctors certificates.
- Must have the physical abilities to carry out the functions of the job description .
