Under the general supervision of the Consular Officer, the Consular Program Assistant processes passports applications and citizenship documents for Canadian citizens abroad; provides consular support services to Canadians; and financial and accounting services in support of consular, passport and citizenship services provided at the mission; complete administrative tasks including for notarial services; support in translating documents to/from official languages and performs other duties.
The program assistant provides daily administrative support and service; provides and creates information and/or documentation; responds to service requests from clientele and performs other duties as requested by the supervisor and/or other manager. The program assistant supports regional focus of program by supporting administrative interactions and proactively cooperating with regional offices and/or headquarters.
Problem resolution is through reference to readily available guidance. Comprehensive knowledge of office routines, procedures and functions of program is required, as is: prioritizing of multiple projects & tasks; providing services to internal & external clients; researching & compiling data and maintaining databases; managing events & logistics. This position’s actions impact on program operations and the image of office.
Candidates will initially be screened based on the essential qualifications in relation to education, experience and languages. Education:
• Technical Diploma or university degree from a recognized institution;
Language:
• Fluency in English (both written and oral)
• Intermediate level of Turkish (both written and oral)
You must provide evidence of your English language ability as follows:
• A recent language test score from IELTS showing each score at 6 or above*, or
• Proof of graduation from an English language medium high school, or
• Proof of graduation from an English language medium university, or
• Proof of at least one year of recent** continuous work experience in an office where English was the principal language of work.
*IELTS TRF examination date must be within the past two years.
** Recent is defined as being in the last seven (7) years.
Experience:
• 1 year of recent* experience working in an office environment in an administrative support or program assistant capacity.
• 6 months of recent* experience working with clients (internal or external).
*Recent experience is defined as within the last seven (7) years.

Candidates must also meet the Rated Requirements shown below, which will be assessed through any of the following:
written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment. Unless indicated, rated requirements apply to all positions.
