- Content Quality Control Coordinator*, Programming
The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking a Content Quality Control Coordinator for Programming Department at the Headquarters office in Springfield, VA. MBN is a non-profit, multimedia broadcaster that provides news and information to audiences in the Middle East and North Africa through television, radio and digital properties in support of US diplomacy.
The Content Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for providing timely content quality assurance review and check translation accuracy by using advanced English and classical Arabic language skills combined with cultural experience for a fast-paced 24/7 news network.
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Content Quality Control Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Performing technical quality control on acquired vendor master files, tapes, and hard drives.
- Providing timely translation/dubbing/subtitles review for acquired content.
- Translating general and technical content while maintaining the integrity and meaning of the material through translations.
- Creating the editing notes for acquired content and review the edited version.
- Documenting and distributing quality standards and acquired vendor master files anomalies.
- Ensuring deliverables stated in the agreement are quality control checked and project is in perfect order
- Conducting daily/weekly written internal communication regarding acquired programming projects.
- Checking acquired content graphics elements are compliant with brand and editorial guidelines.
- Maintaining MBN list of commonly used words, terms, and phrases.
Candidates are required to have:
- Bachelor degree in translation (English/Arabic) or equivalent work experience translation for television, dubbing, on-air operations, live news, and quality control.
- 3-5 years of translation experience.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Demonstrated knowledge of MS office.
- Demonstrated classical Arabic/English written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong editorial judgment.
- Demonstrated familiarity with the translation industry standards for quality translations.
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Ability to work flexible hours to support a 24/7 work environment.
