Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish a connection with communities and mobilize community members to engage in community-based protection activities.
  • Help implement a strong Communication with Communities (CwC) information process and the design of an area-wide two-way communications system.
  • Coordinate closely with local authorities, formal and informal, as well as refugee/IDP community focal points in each area, establishing and maintaining positive relationships.
  • Being responsible of managing and promoting the social media platform of UNHCR, Yalla Sawa Facebook page with the (CwC) staff of community mobilizers.
  • Coordinate closely with other NGOs and partners to promote their services on Yalla Sawa online Platform, and answer inquires received on the page.
  • In coordination with the units’ team leaders, and with the help of the (CwC) staff, conduct awareness and sensitization campaigns in Camps and Urban areas for Refugees and IDPs.
  • Work in close partnership with Community Mobilization and Outreach teams to conduct activities and reach the wanted targets.
  • Manage the (CwC) component’s budget, and plan activities to reach targets.
  • Manage (CwC) staff of community mobilizers, and distribute tasks between them.
  • With the help of the (CwC) staff, entering gathered data in the system, and work closely with the data team to edit and correct data.
  • Submit daily, weekly, or monthly reports to Accountability and Outreach Manager, such as the monthly donor report, including a narrative analysis of trends, summary of campaigns, and photos, as well as updating the weekly tools.
  • Uphold SWEDO and UNHCR’s code of conduct, and ensure that all persons of concern are treated with neutrality, dignity, and respect, in accordance with humanitarian principles and human rights standards.
  • Conduct all other duties that are assigned by supervisors.

 

 

 

 Qualifications & Preferred Skills 

  • Bachelor Degree in Sociology or Project Management;
  • At least three years’ experience in the same position or field. 
  • Fluency in Kurdish, Arabic & English Languages.
  • Time management skills and effective problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to work with both community members as well as local authorities in a sensitive and respectful manner, and ensuring that all community members are represented. 
  • Willingness to work in all areas of Erbil Governorate. 
  • Must work well within ethnically or religiously diverse groups.
  • Team-building skills, able to effectively mobilize and motivate both staff and volunteers
  • Having a background of Graphic design skills is preferrable.
