arche noVa – Initiative for People in Need is a non-religious, independent non-profit and non-governmental organization (NGO) with Headquarters in Germany. We work in the field of humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and development and primarily focus on the WASH sector.

Globally, arche noVa currently works in twelve countries. Since 2013, we have been implementing projects for IDPs, returnees and host communities in Northern Iraq and Kurdistan (Diyala, Sulaymaniyah and Kirkuk Governorate).

arche noVa provides WASH services in IDP camps in Sulaymaniyah, Kalar and Khanaqeen. Over and above that, we also provide WASH services and support outside of camps by rehabilitating WASH facilities in schools and health centers, as well as improving water and sewerage systems in villages. arche noVa is further expanding on these WASH support activities through a more sustainable long-term and holistic approach focused on community engagement, capacity building and livelihood diversification in the agricultural sector, yet always continuing to keep WASH at its core.

arche noVa co-leads the WASH Sub-cluster in Sulaymaniyah Governorate and the WASH Working Group in Northern Diyala Governorate.

Objectives of the position:

The driver is responsible for all routine logistical transportation requirements within AN’s Kirkuk Area office, while ensuring that the organization’s security procedures are maintained and the staff’s safety ensured accordingly. This is especially important when traveling to high risk areas in Kirkuk & Salahadin governorates. The duties assigned to the employee are as indicated in the following Job Description. However, they can be amended at the discretion of the management and the agreement of the employee. The employee may also be required to perform other functions, which are within his capacity, skills, aptitude and knowledge without additional remuneration.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Driving AN’s programme and programme affiliated personnel to project sites within the Kirkuk base location, and throughout the project implementation area for project activities, including official site visits as well as to the Country Office;
• Providing a vehicle suitable for the project area terrain and ensure the readiness of the vehicle for transport services through timely mechanical check-ups and maintenance, as well as regularly checking oil, water, fuel, tires and vehicle equipment, and conducting the daily safety and security inspections prior to driving as per AN’s Security SOPs;
• Coordinating with the Security & Logistics Officer and Area Manager in Kirkuk, as well as the Security Advisor at the Country Office, when planning routes as well as reporting on movements at all times to the Security team, as per ANs Security SOPs;
• Ensuring AN visibility on the vehicle, as and when required/advised, as per the AN Security Advisor;
• Ensuring that the vehicle has the necessary first aid kits, fire extinguisher, spare tyre, tools, etc. for any emergency or break-down situation, while also ensuring that communication devices are charged and topped up with sufficient credit at all times before any trip;
• While driving, observing all organizational safety policies and in country traffic laws, particularly with regard to speed limits and seat belts;
• Acting as the main communication point on behalf of AN at all checkpoints while driving AN staff, and maintaining a professional and courteous manner while being a representative of AN at all times;
• Maintaining up-to-date record keeping systems for vehicle issues, as well as daily mileage records and logbooks, with all the necessary authorized signatures and trip descriptions;
• Keeping the vehicle interior and exterior clean and maintained at all times.

 

• توصيل موظفي منظمة ارتش نوفا الى مواقع المشاريع ضمن محافظة كركوك والى جميع مناطق تنفيذ المشاريع، بما في ذلك زيارات المواقع الرسمية وكذلك الزيارات الى المكتب القطري.
• توفير مركبة مناسبة للقيادة في مختلف التضاريس في مناطق المشاريع وضمان جاهزية السيارة لخدمات النقل من خلال الفحوصات والصيانة الميكانيكية في الوقت المناسب، وكذلك فحص الزيت والمياه والوقود والاطارات ومعدات المركبات بانتظام، واجراء السلامة اليومية والتفتيش الأمني قبل القيادة حسب إجراءات التشغيل القياسية الأمنية الخاصة لمنظمة ارتش نوفا.
• التنسيق مع مسؤول الامن والمسؤول اللوجستي ومدير المنطقة، بالإضافة الى مستشار الامن في المكتب القطري عند تخطيط واختيار الطرق وكذلك الإبلاغ عن التحركات في جميع الأوقات الى فريق الامن وفقا لمعايير التشغيل القياسية الأمنية الخاصة لمنظمة ارتش نوفا.
• ضمان وجود وإبراز شعار المنظمة على المركبة عند الطلب والاقتضاء وحسب إرشادات مستشار الامن.
• التأكد من تواجد عدة الإسعافات الأولية اللازمة ومطفأة الحريق والإطار الاحتياطي والعدد وما الى ذلك في حالات الطوارئ او الأعطال، مع ضمان شحن أجهزة الاتصال وتزويدها برصيد كاف في جميع الأوقات قبل اية رحلة.
• اثناء القيادة يجب مراعاة سياسات السلامة التنظيمية وقوانين المرور في البلد وخاصة فيما يتعلق بحدود السرعة واحزمة الأمان للمقاعد.
• العمل كنقطة اتصال رئيسية نيابة عن موظفي ارتش نوفا اثناء القيادة خلال نقاط التفتيش والحفاظ على أسلوب مهني ومهذب اثناء تمثيل ارتش نوفا في جميع الأوقات.
• الاحتفاظ بسجل حديث ومنظم لجميع مشاكل السيارة بالإضافة الى سجل الاميال اليومية مع جميع التوقيعات واوصاف الرحلة.
• الحفاظ على نظافة السيارة من الداخل والخارج وصيانتها في جميع الأوقات.

• Minimum 7 years driving experience with a valid driving license;
• Experience working in international NGOs is preferred.
• A Diploma/ High school degree,
• Ability to work efficiently, under pressure and adapt to difficult conditions.
• Good understanding and knowledge of the geographical areas covered by the AN Kirkuk Office projects;
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations;
• Interpersonal and cross-cultural sensitivity and experience;
• Ability to treat individuals with fairness and respect, demonstrating sensitivity for ethic, cultural and gender differences.
• Fluently in Arabic is required. Knowledge of English is an advantage.

 

• خبرة سياقة لا تقل عن 7 سنوات برخصة قيادة سارية المفعول.
• يفضل خبرة عمل في المنظمات غير الحكومية الولية.
• شهادة دبلومخريج ثانوية.
• القدرة على العمل بكفاءة و تحت الضغط و التكيف مع الظروف الصعبة.
• فهم و دراية جيدة بالمناطق الجغرافية التي تقع ضمن مشاريع مكتب المنظمة في كركوك.
• القدرة على التزام الهدوء في المواقف العصبية.
• خبرة في التعامل مع الاشخاص و الثقافات المختلفة.
• القدرة على معاملة الافراد بعدالة و شفافية, و مراعاة الفروق العريقة و الثقافية و الجنسية.
• التحدث باللغة العربية بطلاقة, معرفة اللغة الانجليزية تعتبر ميزة اِضافية.
