Duties

The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the garden at the Consulate General and/or Consul General’s Residence (CGR) by planting lawn, flowers and shrubbery, cleaning, watering, fertilizing and organizing the grounds.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:  Two years of gardening experience is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Must have a good knowledge of how to plant and care for plants and flowers typical of the area and rudimentary knowledge of landscaping are required.

Education Requirements:
    • Completion of Secondary School or Local Mandatory Schooling and received high school diploma
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE (This may be tested): Rudimentary in speaking/reading/writing English; Fluent in speaking/reading/writing Turkish is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES (This may be tested): Ability to perform hard manual labor required. Must be able to operate garden tools and grass cutting machine. Must have valid driver’s license.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Consulate General Istanbul, Turkey may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
