ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/SCOPE OF WORK:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

• Uphold the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence
• always Respect the VIYAN ORGANIZATION values, both within and outside of working hours
• Know, understand, and comply with VIYAN ORGANIZATION internal policies and procedures
• Work closely with all members of the PHCC Team to provide the highest possible quality of care
• Treat all patients and their relatives with respect and dignity
• Maintain confidentiality for all patients
• Provide consultations for all patients attending The PHCC with appropriate investigations, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses based on Iraqi or International guidelines.
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests as needed.
• Prescribe appropriate medications as per guidelines, ensuring patients understand instructions for dose and correct use.
• Identify all patients requiring secondary care and refer appropriately according to clinic protocol.
• Identify all patients requiring emergency care, stabilize condition and refer according to clinic protocols.
• Perform wound care and appropriate minor procedures as per training received and following strict sterile techniques.
• Maintain high levels of hygiene at all times observing universal precautions.
• Identify any outbreak prone diseases and immediately inform appropriate authorities and/or VIYAN ORGANIZATION Medical Manager for further investigation and follow up.
• Keep clear and up to date records in a confidential manner and assist the PHCC Medical Manager in compilation of weekly and monthly reports to DoH, VIYAN ORGANIZATION, WHO and other organizations as requested.
• Attend training sessions arranged by VIYAN ORGANIZATION, DoH and other organizations as required by VIYAN ORGANIZATION Management Team.
• Assist with the translation of documents from English to Arabic / Arabic to English as required, especially medical /technical terms.

 

 

• Assist the PHCC Medical Manager with rapid needs and health assessments if requested.
• Any other reasonable duties as requested by the VIYAN ORGANIZATION Management Team.
• Ensure the PHCC pharmacist and/or logistics team is notified of any needs regarding medications, supplies and equipment in the clinic.

Specific requirements for the role:

• Based in Sinjar.

Education	MD degree
Experience	•       Essential working experience as a Medical Doctor
Languages	•       Arabic, Kurdish and English are required
Knowledge	Capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team  Strong communication and organizational skills
