This position organizes the administrative agenda of the Center for Human Rights & Humanitarian Law (Center) by providing administrative and logistical support to the Center’s projects. The position requires excellent organizational, writing, communication, and computer skills. The position administers the Center website, listserv, and social media platforms. The position provides day-to-day administrative support, including answering calls, processing financial reimbursements and credit card reconciliation, coordinating travel arrangements, ordering necessary supplies, facilitating Center events, and hiring paperwork in accordance with University policies and procedures.

Preference for applicants who can stay for the academic year (summer, fall and spring).

$17.00 – $18.00 per hour
Required Education and Experience
The position requires related office administration and event planning experience.
A Bachelor’s degree is required.
Cultural sensitivity and capacity to work collaboratively with partners and other staff is essential, as is mastery of basic office software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with social and/or writing website text is desired.
Candidate must have excellent capacity to work independently, to take initiative and solve problems, as well as to seek advice and work collaboratively with others.
Strong interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills a must.
The successful candidate is a highly motivated and organized person who prioritizes well.
Preferred Education and Experience
Priority will be given to candidates with a demonstrated interest in and commitment to social justice and human rights.
Proficiency in a second language, such as Arabic, French, or Spanish, is desirable.
