Job Description

1.      Role and responsibilities

Generic responsibilities:

  • Patrol assigned area to ensure the security of NRC’s personnel, buildings and properties
  • Watch for and immediately report irregularities and potential dangers, such as fire or water hazards or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Inspect perimeter defenses such as gates, doors, fences, lighting and barbed wires to ensure they are intact and not tampered with. Immediately report irregularities.
  • Reduce the impact of any attack carried out against the NRC compound through warning compound occupants, calling for assistance and assisting with evacuation or other reaction as required
  • Attend the main gate at all times in order to deter unauthorized entry into the NRC compound and to open for entry and exit only for authorized persons or vehicles
  • Maintain a record of all staff and number of visitors (Male/Female/children) within the compound at any given time.
  • Receive and screen for risk deliveries of mail/packages and other items. All deliveries shall be logged.
  • Ensure proper handover to the replacement guard
  • Management of generator.
  • Escorting visitor to their destination in the office.
  • Making Sure all the premises lights are working properly and informing Security FP if its damaged.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual body searches
  • Thoroughly check belongings of individuals purses, backpacks ect.

2.    Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience from working as a Guard / Searcher in a humanitarian/recovery context or in private sector

3.      Other information:

Contract Duration: 4 months

Duty Station: Central of Iraq Area office Kirkuk

Salary: G1/S1, According to NRC’s Iraq salary scale and terms and conditions.
