Scope:
The Humanitarian Policy Adviser is a member of the Humanitarian Team and part of the Humanitarian Policy, Advocacy and Campaign (HPAC) group who lead the delivery of policy and influencing strategies on behalf of Save the Children. The Adviser works in coordination with a range of internal stakeholders including the Humanitarian Response and Preparedness Team, Regional Humanitarian Directors, Conflict, Analysis and Foresight Unit, Civil-Military Relations Unit and Child Protection in Emergencies working group. The Adviser is a member of external networks and represents Save the Children in external fora including the Inter-Agency Standing Committee.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:
Essential

Proven track record of developing and influencing humanitarian policy at sector level.

Strong understanding of current and emerging trends in humanitarian policy

Previous experience in complex humanitarian response operations in an operations, technical, advocacy and/or policy role.

Outstanding planning and organisational skills, with an ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple demands and competing priorities while maintaining high-quality standards

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to motivate, influence and negotiate both internally and externally.

Attention to detail and ability to follow tasks and ideas through to completion.

Significant ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to adapt work plans flexibly depending on external opportunities.

Strong interpersonal skills, a proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels and across cultures and an ability to promote and lead on integrated working.

Demonstrated commitment to the Save the Children mission and values.

Strongly desirable: working knowledge of French, Spanish or Arabic.

We can offer circa £43,000 per annum ( If based in UK) with an option of flexible of working hours
