II. Organizational context

Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) is a non-profit organization that operates abroad, in the context of humanitarian aid and development cooperation. It is a respected member of the international network, Caritas Internationalis, and Caritas Europa. Its foreign activities focus on the health and social sectors and on developing livelihood for the local population and education of children and adults.

 

To communicate best hygienic and nutrition practices under the newly started project in partnership with the World Food Program (WFP) to implement the school feeding activities in respective Governorates, CCR is looking for Hygiene and nutrition Promoters with an experience in the implementation of both Hygiene and nutrition activities in the Iraqi context.

 

III. Responsibilities

  • Promote community-based nutrition and hygiene messages in areas of operation
  • Undertake regular community meetings and promote the program services
  • Identify barriers to access and inform the Project Coordinator/hygiene promotion team leader
  • Coordinate activities of the project with schools’ headmasters and key stakeholders and ensure their engagement in the implementation process
  • Participate in the capacity building activities of the project and deliver training where appropriate
  • Lead the organization and delivery of awareness-raising campaigns that focus on key hygiene and nutrition messaging
  • Meeting with hygiene promotion team leader/ project coordinator on a weekly basis to share information, identify trends and align messages
  • With support from HR, ensure that all beneficiaries are receiving ongoing, age-appropriate verbal or written information in relevant languages about Caritas Czech Republic Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct
  • holds self-accountable for making decisions, managing resources efficiently, achieving and role modeling Caritas Czech Republic values
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the project coordinator/hygiene promotion team leader
  • Collect and maintain record of the quality of delivered materials and services in the field
  • Ensuring that information about CCR programmes and approaches are available to target communities, notably through the development of visibility leaflets, community orientation sessions, etc.
  • Submit weekly activity reports to the hygiene promotion team leader and Project coordinator.
  • Document success stories.
  • Track-sheet of completed/not completed infrastructure
  • Ensure adherence to CCR policies and standards.
  • university graduate, ideally food quality, food processing, social science, Nursing, another relevant field
  • Previous experience in implementation of food distribution/WASH projects.
  • good English and Arabic both written and spoken, Kurdish is desired.
  • Good communication skills
  • Motivation, creativity, and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a diverse team, managing stressful situations and results orientation
