Duties

Listen and analyze live and recorded intercepted telecommunications for simultaneous summary for criminal investigations.

Prepare textual transcripts of certain communications intercepted and recorded for judicial purposes.

Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to create a pool of qualified candidates who can transcribe and summarize audio or text from Farsi and/or Arabic into English. The position is located at 155 McArthur Avenue, Ottawa, ON.

This selection process could also be used to staff similar positions of varying tenures, of varying linguistic profiles within the National Division, RCMP.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.
